After bringing to life an enchanting duo of pandas in 2019 — symbols of the Franco-Chinese bond—Lalique and Han Meilin continue their fruitful collaboration with a new sculpture. The Ox, an age-old emblem of strength and perseverance in China, is reimagined through the poetic lens of Han Meilin. The noble animal’s silhouette is transformed into a subtly abstract form. Named by the artist “Niu Wang Wang” (牛旺旺) — meaning “Flourishing Ox”— the sculpture carries a promise of abundance, luck, and prosperity.
